Victorian Hall Pineapple Class

The staff at the Victorian Hall are Denise, Sarah, Julie  who have all worked for St Paul’s Childcare for many years.  We work as part of a team within the nursery and complement each other in our dedication to providing a happy, safe and positive class for our children to thrive and have fun.

The Victorian Hall is set in the grounds of St Paul’s School in a secure and safe environment.  We aim for our class to have a warm, bright and cheerful vibe and provide a happy and friendly welcome.  Our playground is separate to the main school and our children have access to various ride on toys and outdoor games in both a hard surface and grass area.  We frequently take the children to the main Community Centre to use the climbing facilities in the garden.

Our curriculum is play based and follows the children’s interests linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage.  Our class is zoned into various areas such as a reading area, craft table, role play etc.  We change the various activities on a regular basis keeping the children interested and engaged.

As the children in the Pineapple Class are the children who will be approaching school in the next academic year we aim to be a little more structured with circle time, lining up, tidying our class and rules eg. four children in the sand tray.  We encourage our children to become increasingly independent putting on coats, changing shoes and with personal hygiene.

The Victorian Hall can be accessed at the start and end of the day by walking down the churchyard footpath that leads into the school. This school gate is locked at 9am sharp by the school caretaker and opened again at 3pm. Access at all other times is via the main school entrance or by prior arrangement with us.
